About Us
Kirk has more than 45 years of construction experience, with a broad and in depth knowledge of the industry. He has built a team of exceptional workers and sub-contractors so that he can offer consistent and high-level work to any project.
Kirk Hopkin started his construction career in 1976 working as a carpenter for a custom home builder in California’s Central Valley. He learned all aspects of building homes from foundation to finish. Four years later he received his general contractor’s license and started KH Construction.
His firm grew quickly and in 1985 they had an opportunity to work in the commercial, industrial sector, building tenant improvements and department stores from Washington State to New Mexico. In 1987, the company’s great reputation moved them into the public works arena, specializing in schools, libraries & fire stations.
Although KH construction was enormously successful and growing fast, Kirk felt unsatisfied. He had spent his early years dreaming of being a biologist. His environmental and conservationist ethic was not being fulfilled. In 1995 Kirk’s Naturalist got the better of him and he sold the firm and moved to Sonoma County to start anew. Since then he has focused on custom residential projects with an emphasis on sustainable, environmentally friendly materials and procedures.
